BECS – Bonaire Employment and Cleaning Services accounting software MySQL database reconstruction

BECS lost access to their accounting software due to vendor issues. The only asset returned to them was a raw MySQL database backup. Without application access, the data was technically present but operationally unusable.

I stepped in to restore and interpret the data so the business could continue operating without disruption.

Scope of Work

• Restored the MySQL backup to a secure temporary Google Cloud instance
• Analyzed the database schema to understand data relationships and financial logic
• Reconstructed quotations and invoices using custom SQL queries
• Validated reconstructed totals against historical PDF records to ensure financial accuracy
• Exported structured data to CSV for seamless import into QuickBooks

Outcome BECS regained access to accurate historical financial records and was able to transition into a new accounting system without losing operational continuity.

This engagement required database forensics, financial validation, and practical system migration support under time pressure.
